Effective: May 10, 2026 Last updated: May 10, 2026

WFG Wealth Management (“WFG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information entrusted to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website, through forms and scheduling tools we link to, and in the course of providing investment advisory and financial planning services.

1. Overview

WFG Wealth Management is an investment advisory and financial planning practice headquartered in Marriottsville, Maryland. Securities and advisory services are offered through LPL Financial, a registered investment adviser and broker-dealer, member FINRA / SIPC. As a financial services firm, we are subject to federal and state financial privacy laws, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and Regulation S-P. LPL Financial maintains its own privacy notice, which governs the handling of client account information held with LPL; that notice is provided to clients at account opening and at least annually thereafter.

This policy describes the practices of WFG specifically and applies to information we collect directly through this website and through our engagement with you as a client or prospective client.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information in three ways: information you provide to us directly, information collected automatically when you use our website, and information we receive from third parties in the course of servicing your account.

2.1 Information you provide

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number, and mailing address, submitted through our contact form, scheduling tool, or by email.
  • Inquiry content — the questions, goals, and circumstances you describe in your communications with us.
  • Income Planner inputs — figures you enter into the on-site Income Planner tool. These inputs are processed in your browser; we do not transmit or store them on our servers unless you choose to share the resulting summary with us.
  • Engagement information — if you become a client, additional information necessary to provide advisory services, including financial assets and liabilities, employment information, tax information, dependents, beneficiaries, and identification details required by applicable “Know Your Customer” rules.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, and approximate location derived from IP address.
  • Usage data — pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URL, and navigation patterns. We use this in aggregated form to improve the site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Cookies & tracking below.

2.3 Information from third parties

If you become a client, we may receive information from your former advisors, custodians, employers (for benefits coordination), or third-party data providers as needed to deliver the services you have engaged us to perform.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information only for purposes that are reasonable, expected, and necessary to deliver our services. Specifically:

  • To respond to inquiries, schedule meetings, and communicate with you about our services.
  • To provide investment advisory, financial planning, and related professional services you have engaged us to perform.
  • To comply with our legal, regulatory, and supervisory obligations, including those imposed by the SEC, FINRA, state regulators, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • To protect against fraud, unauthorized access, and other security risks.
  • To improve the content, performance, and accessibility of this website.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for behavioral advertising. We do not rent or trade contact lists.

4. How we share your information

We share personal information only as needed to deliver services and meet our legal obligations:

  • LPL Financial — as a registered representative and investment adviser representative of LPL Financial, we share client account information with LPL to open, maintain, and service your accounts. LPL’s handling of that information is governed by its own privacy notice.
  • Service providers — vendors that help us operate our practice, such as scheduling, email, document storage, financial planning software, and accounting providers. These vendors are contractually required to safeguard your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
  • Professional advisors — with your consent, we may coordinate with your CPA, estate attorney, or insurance professional to deliver an integrated plan.
  • Legal and regulatory disclosures — we may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, regulatory examination, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of WFG, our clients, or others.
  • Business transitions — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or transition of the practice, client information may be transferred to the successor entity subject to confidentiality protections at least as protective as those in this policy.

5. Cookies & tracking

This website uses a limited set of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g., remembering that you have dismissed an in-page banner). These cannot be disabled without breaking site behavior.
  • Performance cookies — help us understand which pages are visited and how visitors navigate the site, in aggregate form only.

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Doing so may affect the functionality of this and other websites.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels, or cross-site behavioral profiling on this website.

6. Third-party services we use

This website embeds or links to a small number of third-party services. Each of those services has its own privacy practices, which we do not control:

  • Microsoft Bookings — used for online scheduling. When you book a meeting, the information you submit (name, email, phone, meeting topic) is processed by Microsoft on our behalf.
  • Google Maps — used for directions. When you click the directions link, you are taken to Google’s site, which collects information under its own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — used to load typefaces (Instrument Serif, DM Sans, Inter). Google receives standard request information when fonts are loaded.
  • LPL AccountView — the client login link directs to LPL Financial’s secure portal. LPL’s privacy notice governs that service.
  • Maryland SDAT — the Income Planner links to Maryland’s State Department of Assessments and Taxation for property lookups. SDAT’s practices are governed by Maryland state policy.

7. Data security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted transmission of sensitive data, access controls on internal systems, and regular review of our security posture. No system, however, can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot warrant the absolute security of information transmitted to or from this website. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact us immediately using the details below.

8. How long we keep information

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, deliver services, and comply with our legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations. SEC and FINRA rules require that certain client records be retained for a minimum of six years after the end of the relationship; some categories must be retained longer. When information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or destroyed.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request deletion of information, subject to our regulatory retention obligations.
  • Withdraw consent to optional uses of your information (mandatory uses tied to active client relationships cannot be withdrawn without ending the relationship).
  • Receive a copy of LPL Financial’s privacy notice on request; clients receive it annually.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. We will respond within thirty (30) days, or within the timeframe required by applicable law if shorter.

10. California residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), provides additional rights regarding personal information. These include the right to know what personal information we have collected and the purposes for which it is used, the right to delete personal information (subject to exceptions), the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. Much of the personal information we hold is exempt from the CCPA under the GLBA exemption because it is collected and processed under federal financial privacy law; non-exempt information remains subject to the rights described above. To submit a request, contact us using the details in Section 13. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights.

11. Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can remove it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Effective” and “Last updated” dates at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of this website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
